Contactless readers provide the speed and convenience consumers desire by making it unnecessary for the card to be passed to a cashier or swiped like traditional magnetic stripe cards when making a purchase. The customer can simply wave the card in close proximity to the terminal or tap it on a logo to quickly pay and be on their way. The transaction is processed via RF communication between the card and reader.
